Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

—Psalms 133:1

“As in water face answereth to face,” and in love continents clasp hands, so the oneness of God includes also His presence with those whose hearts unite in the purposes of goodness.

RESPONSIVE READING

Psalms 16:1, 6, 7 (to :), 10; 115:2–9 (to :); I Corinthians 15:33 (to :), 48, 53, 57 thanks

Ps. 16:1   Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
6   The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7   I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel:
10  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
115:2  Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3  But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4  Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
5  They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6  They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7  They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
8  They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
9  O Israel, trust thou in the LORD:
I Cor. 15:33  Be not deceived:
48  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
57  . . . thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
